Real Estate Taxes 

The Cuyahoga County 2019 Second Half Real Estate tax deadline has been extended to August 13, 2020. Tax bills are expected to be mailed at least twenty days prior to the deadline, per ORC 323.13.

Ways to Pay

During the pandemic, the Cuyahoga County Treasury Department encourages taxpayers to utilize either of the following RECOMMENDED payment methods for a safe and secure way to pay your taxes:

  • By Mail: Mail your check or money order and the bottom portion of your tax bill
  • Online: Pay by e-check or credit/debit card
  • By Phone: Call 1-800-272-9829 to pay by credit/debit card
    for Spanish speaking: 1-800-487-4567
  • Drop Box: Located at the County Administrative Headquarters (2079 E 9th. St, Cleveland OH) and all Title Bureaus (during tax collection only) for check or money order payments
    Curbside Drop Box:
    Available: August 3-13; Extended hours: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    Location: 900 Prospect Garage (southeast of the County Administrative Headquarters)

We are in the Cuyahoga County Administrative Headquarters at 2079 East 9th Street (1st floor). Cash, check, money order, credit and debit card payments are accepted in the Cashier Department.

What to expect during your in-person visit:

  • Visitors will be screened prior to entering
  • Face masks are required
  • You will be asked to maintain 6’ social distance
  • There will be limited occupancy in the building

Foreclosures 

During this period, the Treasurer’s Office is suspending further foreclosure action on occupied structures (owner-occupied/rentals). Foreclosure actions on unoccupied/ unimproved properties will continue per normal operations. In process foreclosures will continue but all Sheriff sales will be suspended during this period.

Delinquent Contracts 

The Treasurer's Office will not default any existing delinquent payment contracts until further notice. Taxpayers will remain responsible for the total balance due and each contract will be reviewed after this period. All Automatic Clearing House (ACH) payments and coupon payments for delinquent contracts are suspended until further notice. However, all Advance Tax Payments (Easy Pay) will continue as normal.

Payment Processing 

Please be advised that during this closure period, processing of payments received via U.S. Postal Mail will be delayed.

Taxpayers may access updated balance information and pay in full via the website: www.figtaxes.com

The Cuyahoga County Treasury will provide payoff information and accept payment in full on a sold tax certificate. Please make checks payable to: Cuyahoga County Treasurer and mail to: 2079 East Ninth Street, Cleveland OH 44115. Payments must be made with guaranteed funds (cash, money order or certified check). Please contact FIG to inquire about payment arrangements on a parcel that was sold.
