Please submit a Submit a Refund Request Inquiry Form to request a refund for taxes that are overpaid or paid in error.

What is the procedure to request a refund?

Submit a Refund Request Inquiry Form to initiate research and verification of the refund. If it is determined that a refund is available, a refund application will be sent to the requester. Proof of payment is required to process all claims.

Who should request the refund?

The refund should only be requested by the person or entity who submitted payment for taxes and is entitled to the refund.

How soon should I apply for a refund?

Refunds cannot be made until the checks involved in the overpayment have cleared the payer’s account.

What is accepted to prove I made the payment?

Proof of payment is the front and back copy of the cancelled check, paid receipt for cash payment, credit card/e-check confirmation number or bank statement.

How long does it take to receive a refund?

The refund process can take up to 6-8 weeks to complete. Credit card and e-check refunds are processed within, approximately, 10-14 business days.

Can I have my overpayment applied to future taxes?

Yes. Property tax overpayments are applied to the next tax installment, if not refunded.
