WAYS TO PAY

There are several ways you can pay your CURRENT property tax bill:

By Mail: Please mail the tear off portion of your tax bill along with your check. Make the check payable to "CUYAHOGA COUNTY TREASURER". Your envelope MUST be postmarked by the last day of the collection, otherwise Ohio law requires the assessment of an automatic 10% penalty and interest. The closing date for the collection is on your bill.

Please send checks to:
Cuyahoga County Treasurer
P.O. Box 94547
Cleveland, OH 44101-4547

In Person: The Treasurer's Office is in the County Administration Building, at the corner of Lakeside Boulevard and Ontario Street (across from the Justice Center). The address is 1219 Ontario Street. If you already have a bill, you may go directly to the Cashier's Department (Room 121 on the first floor) to pay. If you do not have a bill, you should call the Taxpayer Services Department at (216)443-7420 or visit that department in Room 111. Our normal office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you pay in person, you must do so by the last day of the collection to avoid an automatic 10% penalty.

On-line by Electronic Check: You can view and pay your tax bill on the internet by clicking here.

Automatic Withdrawal: You can make your payments even easier by signing up for automatic withdrawal prepayment plan. With your prior authorization, monthly, semi-annual, or annual payments are automatically deducted from your savings or checking account. Call (216)443-7420 or click here for more information.

Monthly Coupons: You can arrange to have your property taxes pre-paid in easier-to-handle monthly installments by signing up for the EASYPAY coupon program. Call (216)443-7420 or click here for more information.

By Credit Card: You can pay your bill with MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express by phone or on this website. Payments are processed by Official Payment Corporation, which charges a fee of approximately 2.5 %. The Treasurer neither encourages nor discourages your use of a credit card. For those who feel the fee is excessive, we offer several other ways to pay. For those using a card to avoid the automatic 10% penalty, or who are trying to earn "points" on their credit card, we offer it as an option. To pay with a credit card by phone call Official Payment Corporation at 1-800-272-9829. Follow the instructions on the recorded message. You will need to have your bill, and you will need to know the jurisdiction code for Cuyahoga County, which is 4501.To pay with a credit card on the web click here.

At the Bank: Several local banks will accept your tax payment at a bank branch and forward it to the Treasurer's office. Check with your bank to see if they provide this service.

If you are paying DELINQUENT taxes: You should call (216)443-7420 or come to the Taxpayer Services Department located on the first floor of the County Administration Building in Room 111. Click here for information about delinquent tax payment plans.
